titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of alkali metal chlorate by electrolysis |
abstract | Method for the prepn. of alkali metal chlorates by electrolysis of an aq. electrolyte which contains pure alkali metal chloride, comprises the addn. of part of the obtd. chlorate electrolyte to the anode region of a cell provided with a separator in order to produce by electrolysis a cationic electrolyte which contains alkali metal hydroxide, at least some of the obtd. cationic electrolyte being used for the prepn. of alkali metal chlorate. The chlorine formed in the anode region of the cell is dissolved in the obtd. anionic electrolyte and hydrolysed in the anode region to form chlorous acid. |
