abstract A membrane having osmotic properties and including a permeable base foil having formed on the surface thereof an outer layer that possesses semipermeable properties. According to the invention the surface layer is comprised of an interphase polymerization product of a trifunctional acid chloride and at least one of the amines having formulae (I) and (II). The invention also includes these amines as novel compounds, and a method of producing the membrane, and also its use in reverse osmosis water purifying processes.
