The plant growth regulators contain a compound of the formula I in which R<1> and R<2> are identical or different and denote alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, a dioxane radical which is substituted by methyl, or nitroalkyl, alkenyl having up to 8 C atoms, furyl, thienyl, pyridyl, naphthyl or phenyl, it being possible for the phenyl radical to be substituted by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or nitro, and Az denotes an imidazolyl, 1,2,4-triazolyl or 1,2,3-triazolyl radical, or a salt or metal complex of this compound.
