The invention concerns a process for the production of amino acids. The process is based on submersed fermentation of amino acid- producing micro-organisms in a nutritional medium which contains a carbon source, a nitrogen source and inorganic salts. For a carbon source one uses a mixture of hexose and pentose mono saccharides, which are produced by percolation hydrolysis of a cellulose containing vegetable raw material, freed from furfurol and containing 1-3 weight percent of hydroxymethyl furfurol and lignin humic complexes calculated on the weight of the mono saccharides. |
