| abstract | The arrangement concerns a focal plane shutter in which two lamella-like curtains B, C are used. The particular curtains are driven by a linear motor, energised with controllable current pulses. When the shutter is closed I, one curtain B is located in front of the shutter opening A and the other curtain C is at the side of the opening. For the opening of the shutter, II-IV, the first curtain B is moved to the side of the opening and the second curtain C is moved in phase displacement after the first to cover the opening A.
