titleOfInvention | Prothrombin purification |
abstract | One aspect of the invention relates to a process for the preparation of a purified solution of prothrombin and factor X from a fraction of blood plasma obtainable by cryoprecipitation, which process comprises subjecting such a fraction to prepurification steps and to the following steps: (a) metal chelate gel chromatography and (b) affinity gel chromatography. Another aspect of the invention relates to a solution of prothrombin and factor X, wherein the prothrombin has the ability of being activated to thrombin in the substantial absence of other enzymes or cofactors. A further aspect of the invention relates to the use of a solution of prothrombin and factor X for the preparation of a thrombin solution. |
