abstract The present invention relates to a process described for treating a hydrocarbon feed having a sulfur content of at least 0.5% by weight, a content of asphalt materials of at least 1% by weight, an initial boiling point of at least 340°C and a final boiling point of at least 480°C, to obtain a removed oil fraction at least one asphalt with a sulfur content of 0.5 wt% or less and a precipitate content of 0.1 wt% or less, the following steps sequentially comprising (a) a hydrotreating step; (b) an optional step in order to separate the throughput from step (a); (c) a step for aqueous conversion of at least part of the throughput from step (a) or at least part of the heavy fraction from step (b) and optionally at least part of the light fraction from step (b); (d) a step to separate the throughput from step (c); (e) at least one step for selective removal of asphalt for at least a portion of the liquid hydrocarbon fraction resulting from step (d); (f) a step to recycle at least a portion of said deasphalted oil fraction resulting from step (e) prior to the hydrotreating step (a) and/or entering the hydrotreating step (c)
