abstract | The present invention relates to polymerization inhibitor compositions. The polymerization inhibitory composition may comprise at least one hydroxylamine of the nitroxide complex and at least one phenylenediamine. The invention also relates to methods for inhibiting the unwanted polymerization of monomers. The methods include adding the currently disclosed polymerization inhibitory compositions to a fluid containing monomers. The monomers may be ethylenically unsaturated monomers, for example acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, acrolein, methacrylamide, methacrylamide, methacrylamide, acrylamide, acrylamide, methacrylamide, acrylamide, methacrylonitrile, acrolein, methacrylamide, methacrylonitrile. vinyl acetate, butadiene, ethylene, propylene, and styrene.
