The present invention relates to a method for making a 3D ultrastructure for a 3D cell culture that includes obtaining amorphous silica from sorghum husks, producing biotinylated silica microbodies from amorphous silica, and assembling biotinylated silica microbodies to form the 3D ultrastructure.
