The invention relates to new 17-beta-substituted 4-azaandrostane derivatives of the general formula given in the description. In addition, the invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing these compounds, as well as to a method for producing compounds of the specified general formula 1, which have an inhibitory effect on the enzyme 5-alpha reductase and, therefore, they can be useful for the treatment of all diseases where the aim of treatment is to reduce the level of dihydrotestosterone in tissues, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, acne, seborrhea, excessive hairiness in women or androgenic alopecia (baldness). |
