titleOfInvention | Method for production of modified activated coal |
abstract | The invention relates to methods for producing activated carbon and can be used in the production of adsorbents, in the petrochemical, chemical, metallurgical industries, as well as in the field of wastewater treatment from organic and other contaminants. The objective of the invention is to develop an effective safe method for producing modified coal having a high sorption capacity with respect to organic compounds. The problem is solved as follows. Activated granular carbon is impregnated with a saturated aqueous solution of rhodanide ammonium, rhodanide potassium or sodium, urea or thiourea, incubated for 5-6 hours and subjected to heat treatment at 310-370 ° C for 2.5-3.0 hours. The developed method provides a significant increase in the sorption capacity of the modified activated carbon compared to source coal. In contrast to the treatment of activated carbon with ammonia, its surface acquires a positive charge, necessary for the sorption of molecules of organic compounds. The method is simple, efficient, safe and does not require special sophisticated equipment for implementation. |
