titleOfInvention Grafted copolymers of unsaturated monomers and sugars, method for their production and their usage
abstract The invention relates to water-soluble, acid-containing grafted copolymers of at least partial biodegradability based on sugars and monoethylenically unsaturated (with one ethylene bond) carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and / or phosphonic acids or salts of these acids, and also, if necessary, other monomers. The invention also relates to a method for producing these grafted copolymers at temperatures up to 200 ° C using radical polymerization initiators. For this, a total mixture of 5-60 wt.% Of mono-, di - and oligosaccharides, their derivatives or mixtures thereof, and 95 - 40 wt.% Of a mixture of monomers, which contains at least one monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, at least one monoethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acid, monoethylenically unsaturated ester of sulfuric acid and / or vinylphosphonic acid or salts of these acids with monovalent cations, as well as, if necessary, other monomers. Grafted copolymers are used in aqueous systems to bind multivalent metal ions, to inhibit water hardness, as an additive to detergents and cleaning agents, as a textile adjuvant, dispersant, especially for pigments, and also as an aid in the manufacture of paper and dressing the skin.
