A new pharmaceutical preparation containing a number of coated particles, including a morphine salt coated with a protective membrane that provides a controlled, preferably pH independent, release of morphine during the main part of the once-daily dosing interval, which provides a significant reduction in fluctuations in plasma morphine concentration. Also disclosed is a method of producing such a drug and its use for pain relief while alleviating severe chronic pain. |
