titleOfInvention | Method and electrolytic device for separation of gallium arsenide |
abstract | The method relates to the metallurgy of rare and scattered metals, in particular to the technology of separation of secondary raw materials based on gallium arsenide contained in spent devices of the electronic and semiconductor industries - devices, optoelectronic equipment, including in solar appliances. The method provides a low-temperature separation of gallium arsenide into the initial components of gallium and arsenic with a high yield and low energy consumption, reduces the cost of the separation process, improves working conditions, ensures the safety of the process. According to the technical solution, the separation of gallium arsenide into components is carried out by the electrochemical method. Arsenic is converted from gallium arsenide by cathodic polarization in alkaline electrolytes to arsenic hydride, which is continuously thermally decomposed during electrolysis to produce high purity arsenic. The surface of gallium arsenide in the process of isolation of arsenic hydride is enriched with metallic gallium. To separate gallium arsenide into arsenic and gallium constituents, an electrolytic device is proposed, which consists of a cylindrical vessel with dividing cation-exchange diaphragms, a cathode and anode space, and the cathode is gallium arsenide, which is placed in a rotating volume electrode. During cathodic polarization, the surface of gallium arsenide is enriched in metallic gallium, which, when the bulk electrode rotates, is in contact with a solvent metal, mercury, which dissolves gallium. For this, gallium arsenide is placed in a cathode-polarizable rotating volume electrode, which is 1/4 hr |
