abstract The invention relates to engineering geology and geophysics. The method includes the excitation of ultrasonic vibrations in a rock sample in three mutually perpendicular directions in the air-dry and water-saturated states, registration of the propagation velocity of longitudinal waves, calculation of the initial and final parameters of the shape of the pore space and calculation of the static Poisson's ratio according to the stated mathematical expressions. The method provides a simple and reliable determination of a number of deformation characteristics using a non-destructive method.
