abstract | The utility model relates to the field of medicine, namely to new dosage forms, more precisely, to dosage forms of preparations containing 3-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-ethylpyridine succinate (mexidol or EMHPS) as an active ingredient.n n n The technical problem solved by the authors was the creation of a dosage form based on EMHPS as an active ingredient, characterized by an adjustable release rate.n n n The technical result was achieved by creating a tablet, which includes microspheres containing EMGPS and excipients, at least two of which have different dissolution rates in biological fluids.n n n This effect is achieved by using various auxiliary substances in the microgranules or by coating part of the microgranules with one or more polymer shells. Microbeads have a diameter of 0.25-2.0 mm.n n n Each microbead is a separate element that releases the drug at a predetermined rate, and their combination provides the desired in vitro dissolution profile and, accordingly, the desired plasma concentration profile and duration of action. |
