abstract FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a modified corrosion inhibitor by acidification of chitosan. In the method, chitosan is dissolved in a diluted acid solution to obtain a diluted acid solution of chitosan; aldehydes are dissolved in ethanol, propanol or isopropanol to obtain an alcohol solution of aldehydes. Further, an alcohol solution of aldehydes is slowly added to the diluted acidic solution of chitosan, the solution is heated to 80–100 °C and the solution is stirred to ensure its reaction for 2–4 hours. Then ketones are added, hydrochloric acid is used to bring the pH value to 3–5, the reaction is continued for 8–10 hours. After completion of the reaction, vacuum distillation, washing and drying are performed to obtain a modified corrosion inhibitor based on acidified chitosan. Aldehydes are cinnamaldehyde, anisic aldehyde, vanillin, citral or perillaldehyde, and ketones are 2-pentanone, benzalacetone or p-acetamidocyclohexanone.EFFECT: obtaining a corrosion inhibitor having good corrosion inhibition characteristics at high temperatures, having an inhibiting effect on acid corrosion of carbon steel in oil and gas wells.4 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex
