FIELD: medical genetics. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medical genetics, molecular biology, obstetrics and gynecology. A method is proposed for identifying women with a genetically determined low probability of successful in vitro fertilization attempts in idiopathic infertility. The copy number of ribosomal genes in the female genome is determined by non-radioactive quantitative dot hybridization of DNA isolated from blood cells. When less than 330 copies of ribosomal genes per diploid genome are determined, an unsuccessful series of several in vitro fertilization protocols in this patient is predicted with a high probability. n EFFECT: invention provides fast and reliable prediction of the risk of adverse pregnancy outcome. n 1 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl, 2 ex |
