abstract | FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutics.SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for reducing the risk of MACE in human subjects having type 2 diabetes and a high risk of cardiovascular diseases, where MACE is selected from death due to cardiovascular pathology, non-fatal myocardial infarction, non-fatal stroke and revascularization. Method comprises administering a pharmaceutical composition containing Semaglutide in a therapeutically effective amount, once a week to a subject in need thereof, wherein said subject does not have NYHA class II, III or IV heart failure.
