titleOfInvention Method of modifying rubber with double bonds
abstract FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of rubber containing double bonds in the main chain. Absolute majority of elastomers used for production of industrial rubber articles are related to the specified type of substances. Method of modifying rubber with double bonds in the main chain, which consists in the fact that the modifier used is a self-curing ternary reaction product (block copolymer) containing both epoxy groups, hydroxyls and terminal double bonds obtained by reacting dicyclopentadiene dioxide (A), vinylcyclohexene monoxide (B) and novolac phenol-formaldehyde resin containing not more than 2 % of free phenol, (C) in weight ratio A:B:B from 50:30:20 to 10:50:40 as a result of preliminary mixing in the reactor of components (A) and (B) with subsequent treatment of the obtained mixture with component (C) on plastification equipment at temperature from +70 °C to +110 °C for 20 to 40 minutes and further treatment of the modifier with rubber also on plasticization equipment with the addition of the modifier in amount of 5÷50 wt. pts.  per 100 parts by weight. rubber at temperature from +80 °C up to +100 °C for 15 to 30 minutes.EFFECT: method of modifying rubber containing double bonds provides high strength and heat resistance of rubber by creating a self-curing epoxy modifier with double bonds.1 cl, 4 ex, 2 tbl, 1 dwg
