abstract | FIELD: chemical or physical processes.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing explosives, particularly methods of producing perchlorate (5-nitrotetrazolato-N2)pentaamminecobalt(III) [Co(NH3)5O2N-CN4](ClO4)2(NCP),which can be used in production of higher safety initiation means with different type of activation for use in mining and coal mining industry, in oil production during well perforation, in construction and special equipment. 5-nitrotetrazole sodium salt reacts with cobalt-containing compound while heating. Initial cobalt-containing compound used is chloropentaamminecobalt(III) chloride, preliminarily dissolved in aqueous ammonia while heating, followed by acidification of the obtained solution with perchloric acid to concentration of perchloric acid of 1.0–4.0%. Reaction is carried out at temperature of 80 to 96°C and molar ratio of starting compounds chloropentaamminecobalt(III) chloride / tetrahydrate of sodium salt of 5-nitrotetrazole = 1/1.2–1/1.5.
