titleOfInvention | Method for penetrating keratoplasty in children with congenital corneal opacities |
abstract | FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and can be used for penetrating keratoplasty in children with congenital corneal opacities. For this, the recipient’s corneal flap is first dissected by 3/4 of the circumference. Donor flap is then placed on the recipient’s corneal flap. At 6 and 12 o’clock, provisional sutures are applied at the recipient-donor border. Thereafter, remaining 1/4 of the recipient’s flap is excised, and the recipient’s corneal flap is removed from the donor’s. Donor cornea is sutured in the recipient’s bed with interrupted sutures and a continuous blanket suture. Interrupted provisional sutures are removed in the nearest postoperative period.EFFECT: invention provides prevention of lens, iris prolapse and eyeball collapse with preservation of corneal transplant transparency.1 cl, 2 ex |
