abstract FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for selective production of pentacyclic dimers of norbornadiene - exo-trans-exo- and exo-trans-endoisomers of pentacyclo[8.2.1.14,7.02,9.03,8]tetradeca-5,11-diene, as well as a mixture thereof, by catalytic dimerisation of norbornadiene in the presence of a complex compound of nickel with norbornadiene. The method is characterised by the fact that a mixture of nickel complexes with norbornadiene of a non-stoichiometric composition Ni:NBD = 1:2.1 to 1:2.5 is used as a catalyst in a medium of a non-polar solvent or in a mass of norbornadiene at room or elevated temperature.EFFECT: use of the method result in an increase in the selectivity of the method (process) of catalytic dimerisation of norbornadiene.5 cl, 1 dwg, 5 ex
