abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pathological anatomy and clinical and laboratory diagnostics. For intraoperative diagnostics of morphological forms of congenital hyperinsulinism, cytological examination of hematoxylin-stained tissue smears taken from different parts of the pancreas - head, body and tail, with an increase of ×400 in 10 fields of view with 50-100 cells. The total number of cells with nucleomegaly is counted. In the presence of 7 or more cells with nucleomegaly in smears-prints from the head, body and tail of the pancreas, a diffuse form of congenital hyperinsulinism is diagnosed. In the presence of 12 or more cells with nucleomegaly in smears-prints from 1-2 sections of the pancreas, a focal form is diagnosed. In the presence of 7-11 cells with nucleomegaly in smears-prints from 1-2 sections of the pancreas - an atypical form. n EFFECT: method provides accurate and objective intraoperative diagnostics of forms of congenital hyperinsulinism, allows to reduce research time and, as a consequence, to optimize the volume of surgical intervention. n 1 cl, 4 ex
