A set of oligonucleotides for identification and detection of Histophilus somni bacterium DNA by real-time PCR contains universal forward (Hsmn_F) and reverse (HsmnR) primers and a fluorescently labeled probe (Hsmn Z) for identification of Histophilus somni bacterium, complementary regions of 16S ribosomal RNA of the microorganism Histophilus somni, having the declared nucleotide composition. A method for identifying and detecting Histophilus somni bacterium DNA by real-time PCR includes isolating DNA from biological material, staging a polymerase chain reaction using a set of oligonucleotides for identifying and detecting Histophilus somni bacterium DNA in a reaction mixture. Real-time PCR is performed using an established amplification program.
