abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of preparation of catalyst activators. Described is a method of preparation of a catalyst activator for production of synthetic highly viscous polyalphaolefin base oils characterized by pentafluorobromobenzene and a 1.6M solution of butyllithium in hexane or a 1.6M solution of methyllithium in hexane being added to pre-cooled to a temperature of 75 to 70°C below zero and stirred at a temperature of 65 to 60°С below zero hexane resulting in a salt of pentafluorophenyl lithium, a 1M solution of boron trichloride in hexane being added, the reaction mass stirred at a temperature of 60 to 55°С below zero, the temperature of the reaction mass being brought to 20 to 22°С and stirring being continued resulting in a salt of lithium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate, triphenylchloromethane being added to the resulting suspension and stirred for 230 to 250 minutes followed by release of triphenylmethyl tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate. n EFFECT: simplified method of synthesising a catalyst activator. n 1 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex |
