titleOfInvention Diagnostic method noroviral gastroenteritis in children
abstract FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatrics and infectious diseases, and can be used to diagnose noroviral gastroenteritis in children by taking into account the history and clinical and laboratory data. In the acute period on day 1 of the disease, the following is determined: the nature of the fever, the frequency of stool, the presence of repeated vomiting, the level of leukocytes in the clinical blood test, followed by the calculation of linear discriminant functions according to the formulas: LDF1 = 2.14X1 + 0.42X2 + 0.63X3 + 0, 89X4-8.42, LDF2 = 1.92X1 + 0.80X2 + 0.39X3 + 1.68X4-21.02, where: X1 is the severity of fever on the first day of illness (1 - subfebrile: 37.0-37.9°C; 2 - febrile: 38.0-38.9°C; 3 - high febrile: 39.0-39.9°C; 4 - hyperpyretic: 40.0°C and more); X2 - stool frequency on the first day of illness; X3 is the number of episodes of vomiting on the first day of the illness; X4 - the level of leukocytes in the hemogram on the 1st day of illness. The values of LDF1 and LDF2 are compared, and when LDF2> LDF1, the presence of noroviral gastroenteritis in children is diagnosed.EFFECT: method provides possibility of increasing the accuracy of the diagnosis of norovirus infection in children by taking into account the level of blood leukocytes in the acute period of the disease, on the 1st day of the disease, determining the nature of fever, stool frequency, the number of episodes of vomiting and calculating the indicators of linear discriminant functions, which will ensure the effectiveness of timely treatment and will prevent the unreasonable prescription of antibacterial drugs for norovirus gastroenteritis.1 cl, 3 tbl, 2 ex
