abstract | FIELD: pharmaceuticals.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the use of a sterile aqueous ophthalmic solution for treating corneal wounds and a method of treating a corneal wound. Used solution contains N-(N-acetylcysteinyl)chitosan, having content of free thiol groups equal to 80 mcmole/g of polymer to 280 mcmole/g of polymer, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in a defined concentration and a carrier.
