abstract FIELD: biology; medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental biology and medicine and can be used for optimization of oxygen-dependent processes with prolonged administration of simvastatin to animals. That is ensured by inducing essential hypercholesterolemia in outbred male rats, and then animal once a day for two months receives simvastatin 20 mg and lipoic acid 600 mg in a therapeutic dosage in terms of 100 g of a mass in the form of an aqueous suspension through an esophageal probe.EFFECT: method enables eliminating side effects associated with depression of energy processes accompanying prolonged simvastatin therapy by reducing the level of lactate and changing the glutathione link enzyme indices, which indicates antioxidant protection reorganization.1 cl, 1 tbl
