titleOfInvention Method for corneal epithelial layer recovery in unilateral syndrome of limbal insufficiency
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. To restore epithelial layer of cornea in unilateral syndrome of limbal insufficiency (SLI) is performed excising fibrovascular pannus from surface of cornea of involved eye, cutting on a paired contralateral eye of a limbal flap in the upper sector, transplanting its fragments onto an operated eye, applying a protective coating. After excision of fibrovascular pannus on an eye with SLI, 8 surface symmetrical radial incisions are made in area of periphery of corneal stroma at depth of 50 mcm. Then, a tunnel with length of 1 mm is formed from the splitter in each incision, the cut limbal flap is divided into 8 fragments; one fragment is placed in each tunnel. Further, the amniotic membrane is applied as a protective coating on the entire surface of the cornea and fixed with sutures outside the limb. In case of complete SLI, peritomy is performed 360 degrees after limb removal before fibovascular pannus removal. n EFFECT: method reduces number of postoperative complications on both eyes and risk of healthy eye conjunctivalization, as well as provides stable epithelial engraftment and its further renewal on the eye with SLI. n 1 cl, 3 dwg, 2 ex
