titleOfInvention | Keratoplasty material |
abstract | FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine or veterinary science and more specifically to ophthalmology and discloses material for keratoplasty, obtained from a corneal portion of a human or animal donor eye. Material is a decellularized cornea of a layer structure which is formed by fixed pressed corneal collagen, up to 90% of which is in vitreous state, water content in hydrated state in material does not exceed 71 wt%, material density is not less than 1.3 g/cm3. Material for keratoplasty is transparent, does not grow dark upon contact with tissues and intraocular fluid of recipient, is perfectly fixed by sutures without cutting them, preserves other optical properties in form of stable and accurate optical power, sphericity, smoothness and regularity of the surface, does not undergo immune rejection, is well integrated into recipient's eye structures and does not degrade with time.EFFECT: material can be used in surgical treatment of corneal diseases by replacement of turbid or inflamed cornea or whole cornea.1 cl, 6 dwg, 4 ex |
