abstract FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and biotechnology. Preservation of potato micro-cuttings in biocapsules is carried out, which consists in use of axillary kidneys of micro-plants with size of not more than 0.5 cm and two compositions of nutrient media. In nutrient medium 1 there selected is mineral and vitamin composition ensuring explant activity. Composition of nutrient medium 2 forms a shell, which helps to protect encapsulated object from negative effect of environment and ensures its preservation for 1.5–2 years. Biocapsules are stored in climatic chamber conditions at temperature 3–4 °C and illumination of 1–2 thousand lux.EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the period of material non-waste storage in an in vitro collection and maintains the possibility of maintaining a large number of planting units.1 cl, 5 dwg, 3 tbl
