FIELD: data processing. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for upmix and downmix. Computed downmix signal is calculated based on multichannel signal, wherein calculation includes downmix calculation using absolute phase compensation such that phase rotation is only applied to channel, having lower energy among at least two channels, or to a channel phase rotation is more used than to a channel having a higher energy when calculating a downmix signal.
