titleOfInvention Method for immunological determination of tuberculosis infection activity in children and adolescents with latent infection
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely immunology, and can be used for differentiation of active and latent tuberculosis infection in children and adolescents. That is ensured by determining specific antibodies to recombinant protein ESAT-6-CFP-10 in blood serum samples and determination of neopterin in patient's blood plasma samples in patients with positive skin test with allergen tuberculosis recombinant (ATR) or positive reaction to antigen-specific induction of interferon-gamma. If the positive result of determining specific antibodies to the recombinant protein ESAT-6-CFP-10 with not less than three times the optical density of the test sample compared to the control in immunoenzymometric analysis and neopterin level of at least 9 nmol/l, active tuberculosis infection in children and adolescents is stated. Control is represented by serums of non-infected healthy donors with a negative reaction to antigen-specific induction of interferon-gamma in vitro. n EFFECT: using the given method enables differentiating active and latent tuberculosis infection in children and adolescents, determining a threshold level of neopterin 9 nmol/l, which was adopted for children and adolescents as a positive criterion for evaluating a cellular immune response. n 3 cl
