abstract FIELD: processing of rocks. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of processing carbon-bearing rock – schungite, and can be used for filtration of water on water treatment facilities, as backfill in domestic filters for domestic water treatment, for treatment of waste water, separation of oil products. Initial raw material in form of crushed schungite rock is treated in high-frequency plasmatron at temperature 4,000–6,000 °C with power of plasmatron to 90 kW in flow of gas-air mixture with addition of argon in presence of hard ultraviolet. n EFFECT: obtaining shungite particles with developed surface (up to 1,000 m 2 /g) and high specific resistance and increasing product output. n 3 cl, 1 tbl
