titleOfInvention | Method for prevention of postoperative cicatrisation in surgical treatment of glaucoma |
abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and aims at preventing postoperative cicatrisation in surgical management of glaucoma. During the hypotensive intervention for glaucoma of the penetrating or non-penetrating type, a bioresorbable drainage based on polyhydroxycarboxylic acids with pore size of 30–50 mcm is placed in the scleral bed, with a biodegradation period of not more than 8 months, which is pre-saturated with everolimus. Drainage is placed in 2 % suspension of ground powder of everolimus in physiologic saline and exposed to ultrasonic waves with power of 630 W at frequency 22 kHz for 6 minutes in operating conditions ex tempore or in process of drainage preparation before its sterilization. Drainage in the form of a strip is arranged with a long axis perpendicular to the limb. Distal end of the drain tube is positioned under the superficial scleral flap, and the proximal end under the conjunctiva is above the superficial scleral flap, and the drainage is fixed by filament nylon 10/0 cross-wise to the episclera above the superficial scleral flap. n EFFECT: method enables reducing intensity of connective tissue growth in the surgical intervention area with minimal probability of postoperative complications. n 1 cl, 2 ex |
