FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a fuel additive containing a quaternary ammonium salt formed by reacting an alkyl carboxylate with a compound obtained by reacting a hydrocarbyl-substituted acylating agent and an amine to form succinimide, the amine having a structure of formula 1, where A is a hydrocarbyl linker with 2–4 carbon units, wherein one or more of them are independently replaced by an oxygen atom; and Rand Rindependently represent alkyl groups containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms; wherein said hydrocarbyl-substituted acylating agent is selected from fatty acid, alkenyl succinic anhydride or polyisobutenyl-succinic anhydride; and wherein said alkylcarboxylate is alkyl oxalate, alkyl salicylate or a combination thereof, wherein the alkyl group thereof is C-Calkyl. Also disclosed is a fuel composition containing said quaternary ammonium salt of formula (2) and a method of operating an engine with fuel injection, which provides improved engine performance, including burning in engine fuel composition containing large amount of fuel and said quaternary ammonium salt.(1)(2)EFFECT: technical result consists in use of quaternary ammonium salt to reduce deposits in injector in system or internal combustion engine.14 cl, 6 tbl, 10 ex |
