Composition for a gel napkin containing a superabsorbent gel fiber |
abstract |
FIELD: hygiene; technology of manufacturing. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fibrous gel napkin suitable for use as personal hygiene means and a household cleanser, and to a method for making such a napkin. Gel napkin contains a substrate containing multiple first fibers and multiple second fibers forming a substrate body. Said first fibers comprise at least partially neutralized superabsorbent polymer, which is a polymer, capable of spontaneously absorbing water-based liquids in an amount which is at least about 10 times greater than its own weight, and said second fibers comprise a non-perabsorbent polymer. Substrate comprises a first surface, a second surface located opposite said first surface, and a water-containing liquid cleaning composition applied on said substrate in an amount effective to swell said first fibers and to provide application of said liquid cleaning composition on at least one surface of the substrate. Method of making a gel napkin comprises steps of providing a substrate and bringing said substrate into contact with a water-containing liquid cleaning composition in an amount sufficient to induce swelling of said first fibers and allow sufficient amount of cleaning composition to remain on at least one surface of said substrate. n EFFECT: technical result is obtaining gel napkins, having better cleaning efficiency and requiring fewer steps for manufacturing. n 20 cl, 8 tbl |
