abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of producing a synthetic monosodium salt of hypericin in form of a trihydrate with high purity, involving the following steps: (a) protohypericin photoconversion to crude hypericin using a microreactor comprising an LED light source in a periodical or continuous mode and (c) treating the crude hypericin with at least one salt-forming reagent in a solvent at a temperature below the deposition temperature, filtering the treated hypericin while providing at least one cooling interval until reaching a temperature above the deposition temperature, as a result of which a precipitate is formed, and washing and filtering the precipitate in the flushing solvent, where, after step (c) drying the monosodium salt of hypericin in the form of trihydrate in nitrogen under vacuum or in air under vacuum, and wherein the monosodium salt of hypericin in the form of trihydrate has the following structure: n . n EFFECT: disclosed are systems and methods for producing synthetic hypericin. n 13 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl, 5 ex
