titleOfInvention Composition of thermosetting binder for powder paint and a method for production thereof
abstract FIELD: paint and varnish materials. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a thermosetting binder composition for powder paint and a powder paint composition. Composition of thermosetting binder does not contain a solvent and contains glycidyl methacrylate acrylic resin, functionalised with at least one epoxy group, at least one curing agent and one crosslinking reaction catalyst. Curing agent is selected from a group consisting of polycarboxylic acids and acid anhydrides. Catalyst is selected from a group of organometallic compounds based on tin and quaternary ammonium salts. Said resin has epoxy equivalent weight of 250–700 g/eq and glass transition temperature from 35 to 50 °C. Binder composition of this kind has an initial polymerisation temperature of 120 °C and a gelation time of 35–140 s at 180 °C. Paint composition contains a thermosetting binder composition, at least one pigment and, optionally, a leveling additive and inorganic or organic fillers. n EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a binder composition for powder paint having a low polymerisation temperature and gelation time which prevents substrate damage and coating defects. n 8 cl, 6 tbl, 5 ex
