abstract | FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for simulation of tumor growth dynamics in experiment. Method for simulation of tumor growth dynamics in experiment involves systemic change of thyroid status in white outbred rats weighing 200–250 g. For this purpose 0.5 ml of a suspension of tumor cell of ovarian cancer containing not less than 1×10tumor cells is intraperitoneally injected. That is followed by accelerating tumor growth by inducing drug hyperthyroidism by administering L-thyroxine 100±20 mcg per 100 g of animal's body weight once a day, tumor growth inhibition is ensured by induction of drug hypothyroidism by administering propylthiouracil 2.0±0.20 mg per 100 g of animal's body once a day. Substances are administered intragastrically through a non-traumatic metal probe daily starting 3 days before the tumor cells inoculation. Further, tumor growth dynamics and life span of tumor carrier animals are evaluated.EFFECT: using the given method enables assessing tumor growth dynamics in an experiment based on the animal's survival depending on the induced thyroid status.1 cl, 1 tbl |
