titleOfInvention Automated method with sensory guidance and system for processing crustacea
abstract FIELD: physics. n SUBSTANCE: automated system is configured to perform intelligent cutting on a plurality of crustacean parts, such as crabs and lobsters. System is capable of efficient handling of each separate crustacean in response to how the system sensors evaluate the physical characteristics of each crustacean when it appears on the conveyor. System comprises an intake device for receiving a crustacean, a positioning system with sensor guidance for determining presence, position, orientation and size of a shellfish on the intake device, for connection with crustacean and for placing crustacean in a holding system for its cutting, a holding system for holding crustacean in a fixed position, optimum for cutting, a cutting system with sensor guidance for determining places on a shellfish body to be cut based on the desired release of crustacean parts, and shelling crustacea in selected locations to obtain optimum crustacean products, as well as a device that releases a shellfish for subsequent packaging. n EFFECT: invention provides a system which adapts to each processed crustacea. n 41 cl, 32 dwg
