abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to tips for phacoemulsification. Phacoemulsification tip comprises a rod having a proximal end and a distal end, a cutting edge portion on the distal end of the rod. Cutting edge section comprises at least first and second bends. Geometry of the rod and at least the first and second bends is configured to lead to transverse displacement of the rod perpendicular to the rod during ultrasonic torsional vibrations of the tip, which is less than 5–25 % of the transverse displacement in the distal end point of the tip, over the portion of the rod which extends from proximal end of rod to first bend of cutting edge section. At least first and second bends are arranged so that energy of ultrasonic torsional vibrations in rod during ultrasonic torsional vibrations is distributed in mode of torsional vibrations along rod section. n EFFECT: using the invention enables surgical removal of the lens. n 13 cl, 11 dwg
