titleOfInvention | Method for rapid diagnosis of pneumococcal infection in rhinosinusitis |
abstract | FIELD: methods of express diagnostics; medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to diagnostics, namely to a method for rapid diagnosis of pneumococcal infection in rhinosinusitis. Method for rapid diagnosis of pneumococcal infection in rhinosinusitis involves secretion from a deep nasopharyngeal secretion, detecting a pathogen of pneumococcal infection in the nasopharyngeal secretion, wherein detecting the causative agent of the pneumococcal infection is carried out using an immunochromatographic commercial test system Binax NOW from Alere Scarborough, Inc., USA, showing the presence of the Streptococcus pneumoniae antigen in the analyzed secret in the form of two colored strips in a window for reading the result of the test system.EFFECT: method described above enables higher reliability of detecting pneumococcal infection in patients with rhinosinusitis with insignificant expenses of time and possibility of diagnosing on primary admission by an otorhinolaryngologist.1 cl, 2 tbl |
