abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of detecting a target analyte in a sample of an oxidising composition, comprising adding to said sample an effective amount of a reducing agent to obtain a sample solution and such that the peracid is reduced, analysis of said sample solution with detection by fluorescence, wherein said oxidising composition includes said peracid, wherein said reducing agent neutralises said peracid and wherein said target analyte is a fluorescent compound. Invention also relates to a method for determining concentration of picolinic acid in a sample of an oxidising composition, involving preliminary treatment of said sample with an effective amount of terbium chloride, such that said picolinic acid forms a complex with terbium chloride; preliminary treatment of said sample with an effective amount of a reducing agent such that the peracid is reduced; emitting electromagnetic radiation from an excitation source at wavelengths which cause fluorescence of picolinic acid present in the chemical composition; detecting fluorescence emitted by picolinic acid using a predetermined relationship between emitted fluorescence and concentration of picolinic acid. Invention also relates to a method of determining concentration of a target chemical compound in a chemical composition based on peracids, involving obtaining a sample of said composition based on peracids by diluting said composition with water; adding to said sample an effective amount of a reducing agent such that the peracid is reduced; exposing said sample to electromagnetic radiation at a certain wavelength to cause fluorescence in the target compound present in the chemical composition; detecting fluorescence emitted by the target chemical compound; and determining the concentration of the desired chemical compound using a predetermined relationship between the emitted fluorescence and the concentration of the desired chemical compound, where said target chemical compound is a fluorescent compound. n EFFECT: disclosed is fluorescent analysis for quantitative determination of picolinate and other compounds in oxidising agents and oxidising compositions. n 27 cl, 10 dwg, 6 tbl, 3 ex |
