abstract | FIELD: security systems. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to safety system of nuclear power plants (NPP) with nuclear reactors of pressurized water type (PWR), namely to devices for localization and cooling of melted corium at its emergency exit outside reactor housing in case of severe accidents with violation of cooling and core melting. Device comprises a pre-trailer arranged in a concrete shaft of the reactor with sacrificial and protective materials, adjacent to the concrete shaft room of spreading with layers of sacrificial, steel and protective materials arranged on its floor from top to bottom, channel with a fused plug made in a concrete wall of the well and communicating the pre-trailer with the spreading space. Plug is arranged on the side of the pre-trailer and represents a part of the wall of the concrete shaft; the thickness of the said part is determined taking into account the time of movement of corium melt into the pre-trailer and taking into account the rate of interaction of corium melt and sacrificial material with the above part of the wall of the concrete shaft.
