titleOfInvention Method of controlling uranium hexafluoride quality
abstract FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of quality control of uranium hexafluoride (UHF) and can be used in production laboratories of nuclear power engineering enterprises. Method of controlling quality of uranium hexafluoride (UHF) involves producing a mixed UHF sample by sequential sampling of individual portions of UHF in gas phase, determining content of uranium-234, uranium-235, uranium-236 isotopes, determining content of boron, silicon, hydrocarbons, chlorocarbons and partially substituted halohydrocarbons, determining content of UHF in UHF, determining content of technetium-99, uranium-232, gamma-emitting fission products of uranium and other radioactive impurities, determining content of impurities of elements which form volatile and non-volatile compounds and is characterized by that the mixed sample is formed from separate portions of UHF, selected during process control, carried out in order to control the process, during the whole period of operating time of the UHF lot, determining content of uranium-234, uranium-235, uranium-236 isotopes is carried out by calculating weighted average values obtained during process control over the entire period of operating time of the UHF batches, without comparison with results of analysis of content of uranium-235 in the receiving capacity, determining content of boron, determining content of silicon, determining content of hydrocarbons, chlorocarbons and partially substituted halohydrocarbons, determination of content of UHF in UHF is carried out using a calculation method based on analysis results of a sample collected in a sampling cylinder from the gaseous phase of the receiving container after filling it at the temperature of the process room by infrared spectrometry.EFFECT: technical result is possibility of complete elimination of liquid phase use for selection of representative samples and improvement of reliability of UHF monitoring in content of volatile impurities.1 cl, 2 dwg, 3 tbl
