abstract | FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals; food industry.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical and food industry, namely to application of Cistanche tubulosa extract for production of product for prevention, retardation or treatment of eye diseases caused by oxidative stress induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP), ischemia or blue light. Use of the extract of Cistanche tubulosa for preparing a drug for preventing, slowing or treating eye diseases caused by oxidative stress induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP), ischemia or blue light, wherein the extract of Cistanche tubulosa contains a component selected from a group consisting of echinacid, actezide, isoachtoiside, tubulozide A or a combination thereof. Use of a component of a Cistanche tubulosa extract selected from a group comprising echinACoside, actoteside, isoachtoside, tubuloside A or a combination thereof, for preparing a medicinal agent for preventing, slowing or treating eye diseases caused by oxidative stress induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP), ischemia or blue light. Application of Cistanche tubulosa extract for food product preparation for protection of eye cells from damage caused by oxidative stress induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP), ischemia or blue light, wherein Cistanche tubulosa extract contains a component selected from the group consisting of echinacoside, actezide, isoachtoiside, tubuloside A or a combination thereof.
