titleOfInvention | Devices for compressing of staples in tissue |
abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to methods and devices for fixing a line of staples. End effector for a surgical instrument comprises a first and a second branch and support. First branch has cassette housing attached to it with possibility of removal. Cartridge body has a plurality of staple cavities configured to receive staples therein. Second branch has a thrust element with a plurality of stapling holes formed therein. At least one of first and second branches movable relative to other branch. Support has width larger than width of at least one cassette housing and thrust element. Support includes a compressible central area which is configured to seal around the staple, and a tension release area adjacent to the compressible region. Tension removal area has multiple holes formed in it, and area of tension removal passes from at least two sides of central area, where the support is detachably held on at least one cassette body and the thrust element and is detachable from them when releasing the staples from the cassette body into the compressible support region. Multiple openings are located at a distance from each other so that the tension release area is more flexible along its lateral part, part of the tension release area adjacent to the compressible area. Method for implanting tissue-reinforcing material into tissue comprises fixing tissue between cartridge assembly and surgical stapling instrument thrust element in surgical field and controlling surgical stapling instrument for pushing staples out of the cartridge assembly to form a staple line through the central region into the fabric to hold the tissue securing material in the surgical site. At least one of cartridge assembly and thrust element has tissue fastening material detachably attached thereto, wherein the tissue fastening material comprises a compressible central region configured to seal around the staple, and a flexible supporting region adjacent to the central region defining an edge of the fabric securing material. Method further includes placing a cassette assembly and a thrust member into the operative field, wherein the flexible support region is folded around at least one of the cassette assembly and the abutment member. n EFFECT: inventions enable to provide tissue sealing in line of staples and / or to prevent formation of streaks in tissues. n 7 cl, 37 dwg, 1 tbl |
