titleOfInvention Method for intermediate percutaneum aspiration puncture biopsy in rats
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental medicine and veterinary science. After preoperative preparation, the xiphoid process and the edge of the right costal arch are determined using palpation. Using a scalpel with a graduated ruler, interval of 2 cm from the lower edge of the xiphoid process is laid towards the right thoracic region – point D. Skin is incised with a scalpel from the point D towards the costal arch towards the xiphoid. Thereafter, a puncture point P is determined at distance of 0.5 cm from the point D towards an edge of a costal arch along the incision and corresponds to an intercostal ray of VII and VIII ribs. Then, by means of trocar with size of 1.6 mm in the sagittal plane passing through the point P at angle of 45 degrees towards the lower edge of the xiphoid process, a puncture is performed at depth of 3–5 mm until the abdominal cavity is felt. That is followed by removing the trocar and using puncture needle 18 G to be inserted into the puncture canal until the abdominal cavity is felt. To the puncture needle, an aspirating syringe is connected, in which 5 ml of normal saline is preset; premade needle perpendicular to thorax and shifting it to right by 10 degrees, puncture of liver capsule is performed at a depth of approximately 1 cm, wherein simultaneously with the puncture the aspirated syringe piston is performed to the latch of the retainer. Then, without removing the needle from the liver, it is deflected by 20–30 degrees relative to the puncture axis, after which the needle is returned to the previous position and removed from the puncture canal. n EFFECT: method enables higher accuracy, effectiveness and safety of performing puncture biopsy in experimental rats. n 1 cl, 13 dwg
